My Hardest Transaction to Date...

by Lillie Arredondo

This month I worked through the hardest transaction I have been a part of to date. Let me be clear, it wasn’t because of the clients and it wasn’t because of the market.

These clients felt like they had the worst luck in the world. We started working together in March, and, since they were moving from another state, we had to work on the timeline of the house they were selling before we could buy. But, for a variety of reasons, financing was suddenly not an option. This drastically limited my clients’ options. Every time we felt like we had a potential home, it seemed to fall through. Rejected applications, countless calls with listing agents, all without success. Until, two weeks before they were set to close on their out of state home, we found something. A “For Sale By Owner” home that might do the trick. Despite all of the hurdles, we closed!

I can honestly say that this transaction was the most challenged I’ve ever felt. But, these clients and their story was such a powerful motivator. A family that was trying to do the right thing, that felt like every flicker of hope was quickly dashed, remained positive and grateful through it all.

I couldn’t be more thankful that we found something that suit them where they were at, and that they chose positivity when the stress could’ve easily taken over.

This process can be so heavy and so stressful. Who you work with truly matters, and that goes both ways. I feel so thankful this my job, and I couldn't be happier to have helped this family on their journey.

Here’s to finding joy in the little things—like a great cup of coffee.

Till next time,

Lillie
